Telehealth Legal Clerkship Program

Beginning in 1999, CTeL began offering a Telehealth Policy Clerkship program for second and third year law students who are interested in examining public policy and legal issues of using advanced communications technologies in the practice of medicine. CTeL works with Loyola School of Law, George Mason School of Law and Southwest Texas School of Law.

In 2005, CTeL began planning a national competition for law students interested in the intersection between telehealth, emerging health technologies and the law.  Rollo out of this competition is expected in 2007.

“The more law students who are interested in public policy and health care understand how legislative and regulatory decisions impact medicine, in general, and telehealth, in particular, the greater the likelihood that we will be able to change the system, so that patients have access to healthcare when and where they need it."
