Issue Background
CTeL is convening a cross-sector roundtable on August 12, 2026 to bring together digital health leaders, legal experts, and key stakeholders for a focused discussion on NPI fraud and its growing impact on clinicians and healthcare programs. This dialogue will explore emerging fraud schemes, regulatory and enforcement priorities, and strategies to safeguard provider identities while strengthening program integrity.
This roundtable will include:
Expert insights on the legal and regulatory landscape surrounding NPI misuse, fraud prevention, and enforcement priorities;
Discussion on common fraud tactics, vulnerabilities in current systems, and best practices to protect clinicians and organizations; and,
Collaborative dialogue on strengthening program integrity through policy, technology, and cross-sector coordination.
