CTeL Summary: Digital Health Provisions: CMS PFS 2025

$349.00

On November 1, 2024, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) released the CY2025 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) final rule. This annual rule sets payment rates for healthcare services under Medicare. CTeL submitted comments on the proposed rule on September 5, 2024.

Given the length and complexity of this rule, CTeL staff are providing you with this summary of key telehealth provisions to help you understand changes that may affect your practice. You may read the full rule here. Citations are in reference to the page number in the document linked.

These provisions will go into effect on January 1, 2025.

CTeL is monitoring a Congressional push for an end-of-year extension of telehealth waivers beyond December 31, 2024. Since Congress has not yet acted as of publication of the rule, CMS must operate under the assumption that COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) telehealth flexibility waivers will expire on December 31, 2024. Items that may be impacted by a Congressional extension are marked as such.
